Över Alperna for vi ytterligare en gång. Efter den hetsiga och mindre smärtfria morgonen hoppades vi på lite flyt resten av dagen. Resan närmade sig sitt slut och diskussionerna var tunga kvällen innan kring vilken väg vi skulle ta hemåt igen. Till slut bestämde vi oss, bokade hotell och höll alla tummar vi kunde att det fanns platsbiljetter kvar på tåget från Bologna. En sista glimt av Italien genom snabbfrukost, sedan begav vi oss norrut. Om resan ner från Österrike var pampig var den här helt otrolig. Denna gång åkte vi mitt på dagen, lite längre västerut genom norra Italien förbi blanka små sjöar, pittoreskt vackra byar och vidsträckta vinodlingar, kända som okända. Jag var helt hänförd och kunde inte koncentrera mig på min reselitteratur utan stod ute i gången och tittade och gapade. Flera gånger undeer den ca 6 timmar långa tågresan kände jag att ”Jaa, hit skulle jag absolut kunna tänka mig att flytta.” Pelargonkorgar från luckfönstren, vandringsleder till tusen och idyllisk lugn och ro. Jag insåg så småningom avståndet till kust och hav och slog då tankarna ur hågen direkt, men visst hade det väl varit underbart ibland?
När det planade ut på andra sidan bergen rullade vi nästan omedelbart in i München, Kristoffers favoritstad alla kategorier. Tågstationen var en överraskande enorm hall och inte ens fem minuter efter avstigning klev vi in på resans dyraste inkvartering. Efter en kort powernap svidade vi om för att matcha den ljumma förkvällen och begav oss mot centrum för lite rekning. Den vackra, välskötta gamla stadskärnan lockade in oss och efter en stund på shoppingstråket och fotograferingsstopp vid det gigantiska rådhuset jag satte av mot en beryktad second handaffär som jag gott och väl spenderade någon timme i medan Kristoffer tog en välförtjänt kvällskaffe. När vi möttes igen letade vi upp Hofbräuhaus och beslutade oss för att göra ett besök där dagen efter när tiden var mer på vår sida. Vi kände oss nog lite uppstimmade av den fantastiska stämningen i staden och vår (min) mondäna talang i ”lokalisering utifrån kartor i minnet”. Hur som helst vandrade vi i alla fall vidare på lite bakgator och hittade ett riktigt bayerskt hak, en s.k. biergarten, utomhus där vi beställda korv, kraut och öl och slog oss ned vid ett av de många långborden och insöp skymningen tillsammans med fjäderhattsbeklädda herrar och kulturdrypande kvinnor. Mörkret förde oss hemåt och efter en rejäl dos nyhets-TV (vi hade verkligen saknat att inte förstå eller komma åt världen nere i Italien!) slocknade vi för en god natts sömn.
Dagen efter innebar vår sista dag på resan och vi ville verkligen maximera den med upplevelser i denna härliga stad. Efter ett långdraget besök på tågstationen för att ordna inför den förestående hemresan tog vi metron ut till Bayern Münchens hemmastadion Allianz Arena. Ett gigantiskt skrytbygge närmast liknande en ufofarkost, men Kristoffer var i himlen och botaniserade länge och väl i fanshopen. Vi irrade sedan oss tillbaka in i stan och efter lite möda och kartfunderingar hittade vi en entré till Englisher garten, en fantastiskt, gammal park (faktiskt större än Central Park i New York!) som fungerade utmärkt som svalkande oas för stadens innevånare en stekhet dag som denna. Länge vandrade vi längs parkens stigar, slog oss ned vid en biergarten i parkens mitt för lite (dvs. mycket – i München tycks bara finnas ”mycket” eller ”väldigt mycket” att välja på) lunch och när vi några timmar senare kom ut i södra ändan blev det lite mer shopping och sightseeing inne i centrum, en quick fix i matväg, den vanliga surfstunden inne på Starbucks och sista stoppet för dagen blev Hofbräuhaus för lite trevliga drycker. Det var en fantastiskt trevlig känsla att kunna sitta på en lummig innergård till sent på kvällen i bara linne och t-shirt, Kristoffer med en stor sejdel i handen och jag med ett riktigt, riktigt gott glas vin (i och för sig: nästan varenda glas vin jag fick i min hand under resan var supergott.) En helt otroligt osannolik händelse var att vi slog oss ned på vid ett långbord utomhus precis bredvid ett äldre svenskt par, de hade bilat igenom Österrike och Tyskland för någon biltävling om jag inte minns fel. Vi pratade med dem ett bra tag och gick sedan de ca 20 minuternas promenad hem och pratade om staden och våra upplevelser från resan i stort. Lite nostalgiska och lite euforiska. Jag vill till och med tro att jag fick hålla Kristoffer i handen medan vi gick där, trots att jag vet hur ofrivillig han brukar vara till allt sånt. Sista kvällen på resan var till ända och dagen efter började den långa, krångliga och rastlösa hemresan, men allt det där får ni läsa om nästa gång.
Det skulle vara riktigt intressant att titta på en bra karta vilka resvägar ni har tagit över Alperna.

Jag tror att vi nog skulle kunna lista ut det med en bra karta, hyfsat bra koll hade vi under resans gång. Vi bör absolut ta en titt i kartboken nästa gång vi ses. (Snabbt beskrivet åkte vi väldigt långt österut på väg ner och sedab rakt upp över alperna (Bolzano, Innsbruck osv) på väg uppåt)
